HTC Touch Diamond: Review and Specification
HTC Touch Diamond is one of the most advanced and stylish mobile devices released on May, 2008 by HTC (High Tech Computers). The device is available in black color and weights about 110 gram. It is a Pocket PC with Windows Mobile 6.1. This mobile device is considered as an iPhone Killer but in real, it is far more advanced than iPhone.
HTC Touch Diamond has a TFT touchscreen which is used to control over all the functions because there is no other input panel like QUERTY Keyboard or even a Numerical pad. HTC TouchFlo 3D included in this mobile device provides you an excellent control experience. The resolution of this mobile device is 480X640 pixels. The display is 2.8 inches big which is 0.7 inches lesser than an iPhone.

The length of HTC Touch Diamond is 102 mm, breadth is 51 mm, and it is 11.5 mm thick. This cell phone model includes no card slot which means you cannot add a memory card into this device. As 4GB inbuilt internal memory is available, no additional memory will be required for a normal use.
HTC Touch Diamond doesn’t have Infrared and HSCSD but it has Class 10: 32-48 kbps GPRS, Class 10: 236.8 kbps Edge, HSDPA: 7.2 Mbps 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g WLAN, v2.0 bluetooth with A2DP, and miniUSB.
This mobile device has a 3.15 Megapixel camera with maximum picture resolution of 2048X1536 pixels. For video conference, it also includes a VGA camera on its front face. Some of the inbuilt software in this device are: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, PDF viewer, and Windows Media Player. The device is Java compatible so you can also install java applications and games. It has motion-based games, MP3 player, Voice memo, and built-in hands free. It also has FM radio with RDS.
The battery isn’t much good with just 5 hours 30 minutes of talk time. The only defect on this device is its battery. It uses Li-ion 900 mAh battery which works up to 285 hours in standby. The duration of battery may be different depending upon usage and temperature.
The price range for this device is $610 to $700. You can expect this price to drop if you wait for few more days. I personally recommend you to get this mobile device to know where the technology has been. This device is better than all other windows mobile devices and even devices like iPhone. If can spend little more, you may even get HTC Touch Pro which has similar look and functions as HTC Touch Diamond and also includes a Sliding QWERTY keyboard.

Great phone. I’m in love with it. I liked it’s TouchFlo 3D, it is similar to iPhone’s control system.
This is a great phone with great functions. The only thing that sucks is it’s battery life with works for only two days on a heavy operation mode. However, I love this phone.
I want to buy one but it is quite expensive. But in compare to iPhone in India, I consider it to best because iPhone isn’t worth it’s price but HTC Touch Diamond has lot to offer in about same price. I think I’ll get one after the price falls.
