Martti Ahtisaari wins 2008 Nobel Peace Prize
This year’s Nobel Peace prize has been awarded to Martti Ahtisaari for his important efforts on several continents for over more than three decades to resolve international conflicts as announced by the Nobel Foundation.
Martti Ahtisaari was born on June 23, 1937 in Viipuri, Finland.
Martti Ahtisaari is a former president of Finland. He was the Finnish president from 1994 to 2000. Martti Ahtisaari is famous for his peacekeeping efforts in several nations including Cosovo and Serbia.
