Stefanía Fernández from Venezuela has been crowned Miss Universe 2009 in a beauty pageant held in Nassau, Bahamas. Stefanía Fernández represented Venezuela because she holds Miss Venezuela 2008 title. This is a consecutive win for a Venezuelan contestant after Dayana Mendoza, also from Venezuela, won the title last year. After this win, Venezuela holds glorious six Miss Universe titles in total.

Stefanía Fernández is 18 years old as she was born in Mérida, Mérida State, Venezuela on Sep 4, 1990 to Nadia Krupij Holojad and Carlos Fernández. She is 5 feet 10 inch tall and possesses brown hair and eyes. In addition, she has fluency in Spanish language.

In the pageant, along with the Miss Universe title, Stefanía Fernández was also named Miss Elegance, Best Body and Best Face. She was crowned by last year’s Miss Universe, Dayana Mendoza.

Ada de la Cruz, a contestant who represented Dominican Republic and Marigona Dragusha who represented Kosovo became first and second runner-ups respectively.
